Vertica, from Ohh-Med Medical, is the revolutionary device to treat erectile dysfunction and improve sexual performance.

This month saw International Day of Happiness take place – a day designed to promote happiness, wellbeing and a more compassionate world.

The global holiday, which is observed every year on March 20, is also a day to celebrate and recognise the importance of happiness in people’s lives and encourage individuals, communities, and organisations to take action and help make a difference.

When we look at sexual health in the UK, one major contributing factor to unhappiness in men is a subject – which even in today’s more open society – is one that, for some, is still embarrassing and slightly awkward to talk about.

Erectile dysfunction is suffered by nearly half of men in this country with one study in 2021, finding that over 16.5 million (48 per cent of men) always, sometimes or occasionally experience it. It has also been claimed that 4.5million drugs for ED were prescribed across the UK in 2023 costing the NHS more than £15million.

However, a relatively new type of treatment is becoming increasingly popular which is truly drug-free with no prescription required and can be used at home.

The medical device – called Vertica – by Ohh-Med Medical, is designed to improve male performance and thousands of men around the world are already experiencing improvement in their performance, and wellbeing. In a pilot study, participants who had ED achieved an 85 per cent success rate, experiencing positive results in just four weeks.

Dr Fabio Castiglione, Consultant Urologist and Andrologist at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Associate Professor at the University College London (UCL), has described Vertica as ‘creditable’, ‘revolutionary’ and potentially ‘life changing’ for men.

Vertica is a V-shaped device and has handles on both sides with an opening in the middle. It is said to be totally safe for home use by the manufacturer and uses radiofrequency technology to ‘renew’ collagen and elastin fibre tissues in the penis.

Developed by urologists and experts in RF technology, Vertica, effectively ‘traps’ the blood, decreasing the leakage from the penis and improves performance for a sustained period.

Subscription drugs, such as Sildenafil, more commonly known as Viagra, works by increasing blood flood temporarily and lasts only around four hours. Prescription-based medication can have side effects.

With Vertica, men are recommended to use the device three times per week for 30 minutes for the first month and then twice weekly for another 30 days, and it is designed to ‘treat the root cause of erectile dysfunction, rather than just the symptom’ says Ohh-Med Medical.

Vertica is intended for use by men of all ages experiencing erectile difficulties and includes a special accessory to treat deeper tissue, a charger, a case, and conductive gel. The medical device is registered with the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) in the UK and CE-MDR approved in Europe.

On International Day of Happiness – which aims to make people around the world realise the importance of happiness within their lives – sex is seen as extremely beneficial to health, for both men and women.

Health benefits of an active sex life include lower lowering blood pressure, burning calories, increasing heart health, strengthening muscles, reducing your risk of heart disease, stroke, and hypertension.

Sexual activity can also provide important psychological and emotional benefits such as increased satisfaction with mental health – for men especially it can help build confidence and improve self-esteem – while being able to sexually function can heighten levels of trust and intimacy among partners, with improved ability to perceive, identify, and express emotions.
