7 Of The Best Vegan Meal Delivery Services 2021 | Men's Fitness UK

From £5.65 per meal / planty.uk

Taste: 5/5
Variety: 4/5
Overall: 5/5

Pick Planty if you’re a plant-based sceptic unconvinced about the quality of vegan cooking.

The meals are delicious, packed full of protein, and there’s enough variety to eat a different type of cuisine every day of the week.

You can build your box from either six, eight or ten meals from the nutritionist-approved menu, and receive as a one-off or subscribe for more regular deliveries.

Nothing but fresh ingredients go into the meals, which are flash-frozen as soon as they’re cooked to lock in flavour and nutrients.

The Good Prep

From £109.50 for a 5 day plan / thegoodprep.com

Taste: 4/5
Variety: 4.5/5
Overall: 4.5/5

If high protein and big portions are your priority, The Good Prep has got your back.

The Power & Plants plan covers five days’ worth of breakfasts, lunches, dinners and snacks – with a range of high-protein vegan foods and nutrition info available for each meal, so you can check the macros before you commit.

The meals come in a small army of plastic containers, but they are at least widely recyclable.

All Week (formerly Out Of The Box)

From £6.75 per meal, themealprepmarket.co.uk)

Taste: 4.5/5
Variety: 4.5/5
Overall: 4.5/5

Formerly known as Out Of The Box and founded by Gordon Ramsay-trained chef Theo, All Week offers a tasty selection of restaurant-inspired meals. Of its 21 deliciously fresh meals, All Week has six that are vegan friendly – and each one is prepared to order.

Most are less than 500 calories and feature a hearty helping of fresh veg. While testing, my favourites were the vegetable Thai green curry and bang bang cauliflower with rainbow noodle salad.

Mindful Chef

From £5.75 per meal / mindfulchef.com

Taste: 4.5/5
Variety: 4/5
Overall: 4.5/5

Better known for its raw-ingredient recipe boxes, Mindful Chef has branched out into the world of frozen ready meals, with a range of vegan, vegetarian and meat options.

There’s a decent 14 vegan dishes to choose from (I recommend giving the Chickpea Tikka Masala a go) – all chock-full of veg and delivered in hearty portion sizes. Plus, if you need some breakfast inspiration, Mindful Chef also offers a selection of nutritious smoothies and ready-to-go gut-loving brekkies.

Huel Instant Meals

From £2.66 per meal / try.huel.com

Taste: 4.5/5
Variety: 4.5/5
Overall: 4.5/5

To compare Huel’s Instant Meal range to Pot Noodles would be doing Huel a huge disservice. Though you add hot water to dry ingredients in a pot (which is free with your first order), those ingredients are a healthy balance of carbs, protein, fats and fibre, as well as 26 essential vitamins and minerals.

Each 665g meal bag (enough for nine meals) is made from a tasty and filling mix of pasta, pulses, brown rice, flaxseed, pea protein, quinoa and vegetables. There are plenty of dishes to choose from, including vegan carbonara, Mexican chilli, korma, madras and Thai green curry.

foodhak vegan meal delivery service Ayurvedic Beetroot Kofta Curry

£28.50 for three meals / foodhak.com

Taste: 4/5
Variety: 4/5
Overall: 4/5

Designed to cater for all your nutrition needs, there are plenty of Foodhak meal plans to choose from, depending on your health or fitness goals, including options for weight loss, detox and low carbs.

We decided to trial the Ayurvedic Detox Regime, but whatever plan you choose you’re guaranteed fresh ingredients and clean flavours – or, you can create your own plan and select your meals. We loved the Ayurvedic Beetroot Kofta Curry (pictured), which is high in plant protein and features a bright and delicately spiced beetroot sauce.

No1 Food Prep

From £56 per week / no1foodprep.com

Taste: 4.5/5
Variety: 3/5
Overall: 4/5

For No1’s vegan option, you select the number of weeks you want and the number of meals/snacks you get each day, then it’s a bit of a lucky dip as to what you receive, as the menus rotate weekly. But the meals are top quality and the chances of you receiving something you don’t like are slim.

There are also weekly packages available, which include daily breakfast, lunch, dinner and a snack for each day of the week. Ideal for those with busy schedules who want a change from vegan protein shakes! While the meals are selected by the chefs, you can choose from Lite, Balanced and Max plans, depending on your appetite and how many daily calories you need.
