How we test the best lifting straps

Our tester Roger Lockridge is an experienced product reviewer of all manner of fitness kit. He tested these lifting straps over at least a month at various weights and through a range of exercises at high rep ranges. He assessed each pair in terms of grip, comfort and durability. He then provided an overall score, taking availability, value and ranges of colours, sizes and other options into account.

DMoose Lifting Straps features

These could be among the longest straps available, coming in at 2ft (61cm) long. They’re definitely among the best lifting straps. There are nine color schemes to choose from as well, including prints like the striking stars and stripes version I tested. The straps come with wrist padding, so they’ll be comfortable even when sweating through the hardest sessions. The company’s logo is stitched onto the strap, so it shows on the top of the wrist once it’s applied.

The cotton is breathable and will stay wrapped around whatever you’re holding. You can keep them looped or roll them up when you’re not using them. They will need to be hand cleaned to ensure they last for as long as possible – that’s particularly true of the printed versions.

The cross stitching makes them very durable and strong. I used these straps with barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells and specialty equipment in a non-climate-controlled weight room in the middle of summer, and they protected my hands very well. I also had no trouble maintaining control of the object I was lifting.

I tested these with as much as 495lb / 225kg in weights. If you have small hands, these straps may be too thick for you to work with, but most people will find these to be a great asset for their training needs. At $17, they’re an affordable accessory to improve your weight training, and DMoose plans to ship to the UK soon.
